The Great State of Maine in late June
The Great State of Maine in late June
Features several events worthy of note! If you are looking for something to do Maine has a lot to do in any given summer month but to really kick off the summer Maine's Southern Coast has several events that are worth driving, flying or even boating too.
The Old Port City of Portland, Maine had their 1 day festival in early June, the largest in the state but no worries there are other events going on in Maine. The Bar Harbor Legacy of Arts Festival runs from the 17th through the 24th and features music, art, dancing, history, food and willing ... nice weather!
Bowdoin International Music Festival runs from June 23rd to the start of August and features well yes... international artists of all gendres. Bowdoin is jumping and the crowds are usually huge!
One of my favorites is the Boothbay Harbor Winjammer Days from June 26 thru 27th! Kick off the event with locals, summer residents and tourists alike with a pancake breakfast then check out the antique boat parade and tours of the shipyard. Capped by a nice fireworks display!
To end June Bath's Heritage Days (June 29) celebrating their proud maritime history and the Strawberry Festival at South Berwick (June 30) are worth a stop for all u can eat Strawberry everything and of course history!
