Events: One worth not missing or hearing...
The Deep River Ancient Fife and Drum Muster held each July for the past decades again will feature 70 plus fife & drum units from across the United States and Europe. Held each July in the River town of Deep River, Connecticut this is a MUST stop for all of those interested in not only the music and sounds of the drums and fife but of New England and early America at its best.
Each year 1000s of locals and tourists alike plan their weekends around this event. The sound of each unit, different than the ones before begins to fill the air from blocks away. The rumble of the drums and the sound of the fife resonates through the air and sends chills down your spine.
Food vendors, family picnics, lawn parties, artists and other fill the streets, the air and the town all in all an event great for the entire family.
This years event will be held on July 21st beginning at 11am. Stay until the very end when all participants gather in one great group head back down the parade route to an "open" encampment where 18th and 19th c. wares can be bought.

Directions: Follow Interstate 95 (N & S) to Old Saybrook / Essex exit 69 follow RT 9 North to Deep River and follow the trail of cars!
