Foliage Reports: Southern New England

The first reports of leaves turning have appeared on such sites at weather.com and yankeefoliage.com however due to lack of normal levels of summer rain and the such, stress in the trees may cause a quick change from green to "some color" to brown. With this in mind some varieties of trees may begin to change in Southern New England but with warmer than our Northern and Inland neighbors temps due to our friend Long Island Sound and Atlantic Ocean a full blossoming of color is likely 3 weeks away at this point.

Rule of thump when the leaves are off the tree in Houlton and Caribou, Maine the leaves start turning in Southern New England.
