The leaves in far northern New England appear to be at or very near peak. From Houlton, Maine along the coast to about Bangor are near peak conditions while farther inland from the Canadian Border south to the mid points of the Green and White Mountains westover toward Lake Champlain are best. Patchy near peak in some of the southern areas from the lower Green Mountains toward the Berkshires have also been reported to thenewenglandcoast.com by readers.Along the coast some lower levels of trees that have been stressed by lack of water and near major thru-ways (exhaust and heat) show some color.

Cape & Islands October 20-30
New Hampshire Coast October 13-27
Maine Coast October 1-24
