REVIEW: A New England Classic - Baronet Coffee Co.

I had recently read an article in a local newspaper in Connecticut about the Baronet Coffee Company of Hartford and thought I would "google" the company and see what they were all about. Well I was greeted by a fresh website www.baronetcoffee.com the standard selection menu across the top. I quickly found my way to the various types of coffee under "shop online" and then to my favorite.. yeah ok not Latte, Macchiato or Guatamalen this and Kenyan that but to "flavored" coffees.

I scrolled down reviewing the various short descriptions of each and finally settled on ordering 4 1lb bags of beans. I opted for one Decaf for my wife and three flavored. The first flavored was the aptly named..."Donut Shop Blend", followed by "babka" and "cookies and cream".

The entire ordering process was easy and I received follow up tracking emails after alerting me of the shipping etc... a real personal touch. The coffee arrived freshly packed in each bag and not vacuum packed (nice). I opened each bag and took in the aroma. Each aroma matched perfectly, moreso than any other brand I have tried the description. The donut shop blend was the first... light and sweet just like the local bakery coffee. Babka a blend of coffee cake and chocolate leaves a little extra on the tounge while the cookies & cream tasted well just like a hydrox (oreo) cookie. The decaf was fantastic and one would not know that it was lacking caffeine. The slogan "one cup invites another" hits the spot with Baronet. I wish it could be more readily had but then again with the internet...it is worth the click, click, click.

To sum up... I rank Baronet up there with some of Barnie's of Florida, Il Molino of Ybor in Tampa and one of the Ashlawn Farm Coffees as one of the best cups I have ever had.
