Review of Our New Latest Trip Around Southern New England - DAY I
We arrived in Boston via an uneventful flight from Norway via Keflavik, Iceland on Iceland Air. For those who have never traveled on Iceland Air I can say this... Iceland Air is essentially a flying bus. Food needs to be purchased on the long haul flight and the service and movie selection is well "dated".
We arrived about fifteen minutes late into Boston and grabbed our luggage and did the entry into the U.S.A thing as one does. We, my wife and I, headed to pick up our rental car at National Rental and were greeted by a friendly service minded person and her manager who was as friendly... definitely a nice start to a nice trip. We received a Cadillac STS and were very happy with this selection. Relatively new and very clean...smiles abounded. Being close to 8pm we headed toward our first destination our hotel in tiny but toney Medford,MA. the home to Tufts University and just minutes from downtown Boston.
Our accomodations were booked at the Hyatt Place a boutique type hotel that we chose instead of the more expensive harder to reach downtown hotels especially when deailing wtih 6 hours of jetlag.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by friendly staff and were quickly shown our room. A nice room with a Queen Sized bed, small bar and kitchen area. All in good condition and relatively modern. We were satisfied. The next morning we enjoyed our continental breakfast which was an offering of cereals, fruit and bagels. Tourists filled the dining area and came from all places "mid-west". The breakfast was nice and wares were fresh. With a room rate of about 100.00 for the night we were satisfied and would recommend the hotel to anyone heading the next day into Boston. We found these great rates at www.expedia.com and were about 20.00 a nite less than anyother site I tried.
DAY 1 ended uneventfully and we headed into DAY 2 or our first full day.... Our trip would bring us to Charlestown, MA and Bunker Hill Battlefield State Park as well as the Old Navy Yard (USS Constitution) and then onto Sandiwch, MA and the Cape...
